Registration
All participants need to register here directly or via www.sfm.com.hk. There is a non-refundable registration fee for every participant.
By completing the form and registration payment, you agree that IWCC and may acquire:
- Your personal information(name, email, school or institutional affiliation if any).
- Statement that the participant will submit original work not previously published anywhere or entered in any other competitions, and agrees that the organizers have the right to edit and publish the work.
- Participants must ensure that they strictly abide by the rules of the competition. Any violation will result in disqualification.
Instructions:
Participants should submit three pieces of work:
Article A: A news story, news feature, news profile, news analysis or explanatory news story of no more than 1000 words in English, created using an AI tool or Large Language Model (LLM) of the participant’s choosing. The participant can choose any topic suitable for such a news story.
Article B: A fact-checking report written by the participant themselves, comprehensively and thoroughly examining all the facts, data, and analytical conclusions mentioned in Article A. The participant needs to ensure that all facts and data are accurate, objective and up-to-date. Additionally, assess the key arguments, analysis, and conclusions in Article A to ensure they are fair, balanced, and provide meaningful insights.
Explain your basic approach, methods, tools, and information sources used for verifying Article A. Evaluate and discuss the potential of AI and human collaboration, while sharing personal insights and reflections.
Article C: Based on your fact-checking and research from Article B, conduct a thorough revision and re-writing of Article A. The final version should contain accurate facts and data, objective and fair conclusions, as well as innovative perspectives on human-AI collaboration.
Requirements for Submissions:
All content must be created by the participant using AI tools or be independently and originally written by the participant themselves. All the articles submitted must not have been published previously or entered in other competitions.
For content written by or assisted with AI tools, participants must provide detailed information about the tools/LLMs/software/platforms used, including their names, versions, and list all the prompts used. The specific date and time of writing must also be included.
The work should demonstrate the application and innovation of AI technology in modern society, highlighting both the advantages and limitations of AI in research and content creation. Additionally, it should explore how humans and AI can collaborate to achieve greater results.
Judging Criteria
Entries will be judged by a professional panel based on the following criteria:
Creativity and uniqueness (30%): The work should demonstrate novel perspectives or unique expressions.
Accuracy and authenticity (30%): The work should be based on real events or data, ensuring the accuracy of the content.
Linguistic and writing skills (20%): The work should demonstrate excellent language skills and writing techniques.
Human interest and ethics (20%): The work should demonstrate genuine concern for human and social good, reflecting positive and uplifting moral and ethical values. It must also adhere to the principle of academic integrity and authenticity.
Prizes
The event offers first, second, and third prizes, along with several special awards based on the quality of the submissions. All participants who successfully submit their work meeting the entry criteria will receive a certificate. Winning entries will have the opportunities to be published on a special page , and win feedback and guidance from industry experts.
